Position:  Assistant Teacher (Full-time, Early Learning Center)

 

Location: North Bend, WA

Job Type: Full-Time, 34 hours/week, 39 weeks/year

Pay: $21.00 – $28.56/hr ($26,036  – $39,387 annualized)

The Role

In Partnership with Your Teaching Team

·        Help bring daily classroom plans to life—from music and movement to meals, group projects, and free play

·        Create a welcoming, organized, and engaging classroom environment

·        Pitch in to plan family events and support family goals

·        Participate in team meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary collaboration

In the Classroom

·        Build positive, nurturing relationships with every child

·        Support social-emotional growth and individualized learning

·        Help make mealtimes meaningful (yes—family-style meals included!)

·        Promote healthy habits like handwashing and toothbrushing

·        Observe, document, and support each child’s development

·        Step in confidently when the Lead Teacher is away

And Also…

·        Keep records up to date

·        Support screenings and learning plans

·        Help welcome and guide volunteers

·        Jump in wherever needed—because teamwork makes the magic happen

 

What You Bring

·        A CDA (Child Development Associate) credential (or working toward one)

·        Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices

·        A positive, flexible, “let’s figure it out” attitude

·        Strong communication skills with children, families, and teammates

·        Comfort juggling a variety of tasks (and the occasional surprise!)

Prior to your first day, You’ll Need

·        DCYF Portable Background check

·        Be registered in Merit with a Star’s ID #

·        TB screening

·        Food Handler’s Permit

 

Within Your First 30 Days, You’ll Need

·        First Aid & CPR certification

·        Blood Borne Pathogens

 

Physical Demands (Because Kids Keep You Moving!)

·        Lifting, bending, walking, running, playing—you’ll do it all

·        Being fully present with children indoors and outdoors

·        Using all your senses to keep kids safe and engaged
